Letter to Registrants and Attendees of 3/24 LCIP Conference

Letter to Registrants / Attendees of 3/24 LCIP Conference

Posted on April 16, 2024

Dear friends and comrades,

Thank you so much for registering for our recent LCIP National Conference 2024 for independent, working-class politics and breaking the grip of the Democratic Party (“Conference”). It was an inspiring and engaging gathering with speakers and panelists from many diverse backgrounds and organizations addressing the critical need to build a base for a successful break with the twin parties of capital. Over 100 registrants attended and participated in the panel and the closing “Town Hall” discussion.

If you were not able to attend or would like to review and share the proceedings, the Conference was recorded. Please contact us for a copy of the Conference recording.

Never a Better Time!

There’s never been a better time to build support for a working-class political party based in labor and in communities of the oppressed. The incredible momentum generated during the Conference must now lead to concrete next steps. Among the next steps needed are expanding our membership and support, and developing local labor/community assemblies.

The LCIP Continuations Committee invites you to take one or more of the next steps outlined below:

1 . If you are not already a member of LCIP, we invite you to join (Join Us). Joining means you will be on our email list and receive regular updates. Membership is free; however, we do encourage regular donations so we can continue to build. (Be a Contributor – Donate Now.)

We’ve set a goal of $3,000 to get the LCIP “Next Steps Organizing” rolling along. Your contribution of $25, $50, $100, $250 or more will make it happen. Please go to the LCIP website — lcipcommittee.org – and see the number of ways in which you can make your financial contribution.

2. Another way to support LCIP is by organizational endorsement. Endorsing means that the organization has read and agrees with the LCIP Statement of Purpose. (Click Here to read the LCIP Statement of Purpose.) LCIP Organizational Endorsers are listed as such on the LCIP website. All endorsing organizations are invited to select a member to be on our national Continuations Committee (steering committee). Please consider asking your organization to become an LCIP Organizational Endorser.

Individuals may also be voted onto the Continuations Committee. If you would like to be a member of the Continuations Committee, please let us know. Typically, we meet on Zoom twice a month currently on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month from 5:30-7:00 PM PDT (8:30-10:00 PM EDT).

3; One of the most important ways you can support LCIP is to organize a labor/community assembly in your local area. But, you are not alone. We have organizers on the Continuations Committee who are ready to assist in organizing a labor/community assembly in your area, including connecting you to other LCIP members nearby.

Many of us have been talking about the importance of an independent working-class party rooted in labor and oppressed communities for far too long. What our Conference showed is that more and more people – such as yourself – now want to put in the effort to see this realized.

Please contact us at mailto:organize@lcipcommittee.org to get more involved!

We look forward to your participation!

In solidarity,

Millie Phillips, on behalf of the LCIP Continuations Committee
