We could not, and we do not, stand silently by as the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza unfolds before our eyes. Young and old, students, workers, and the retired have come together in ever-increasing numbers to demand that Israel stop the bombardment and end the siege.

We demand as well that the United States, which funds the Zionist war machine, end all aid to apartheid Israel.

From our lips comes the aspiration: Palestine will be free — from the River to the Sea. Let us now give substance to that call. Almost 15,000 Palestinians have issued “An Open Letter to Our Jewish Allies” in which they give voice to and explain how to achieve “one democratic secular Palestinian state from the river to the sea” where rights flow from citizenship and not from ethnic or religious identity.

They ask for our support and, we in turn, ask: Can you ever accept an entire people denied the elementary democratic and human rights we insist upon for ourselves?
